Biotechnology company Stem Cell Therapeutics Corp reported Thursday that both the U.S. and Japan patent offices have granted the company patents for drugs used to treat stroke and multiple sclerosis.
The company said the first patent granted by the U.S. patent office relates to the use of a pregnancy hormone, human chorionic gonadotropin, to treat patients with diseased or damaged heart cells.
